Parade & Veterans

Lest we forget VE & VJ Days and the serving British Armed Forces

With the sense of remembrance, we need to be sure that The Lee Victory Festival respects the sacrifices of those who fought during WWII so enabling us today to be able to celebrate the freedom we have.   â€‹

The Victory Festival  parade will start from Daedalus on Saturday 20th September 2025 at 10.00 - Be ready and get your vantage point from 09.00am!

Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire's office will be in attendance to take the salute from HMS Collingwood and HMS Sultan who will be part of a marching parade of over 500 strong, including cadet forces, uniformed groups & associations, Veteran Associations and re-enactors with their vintage vehicles, for this amazing parade for Lee on the Solent.

The route will be just over a mile long & will proceed along Richmond Road, Monsterrat Road, High Street, Cambridge Road, Marine Parade back into Richmond Road meaning there’s plenty of space, so make sure you get your vantage point to watch the parade.

The pinnacle element of this parade will be a Spitfire display for all to enjoy on the seafront.

To enable the parade to take place, there will be an approved road closure scheme in operation, which will be managed by Sunbelt Traffic Management. Full road closure & car park details will be released in due course.

With The Victory Festival, it’s our vision to bring together those veterans, men & women of military & civilian background from WWII period who experienced VE Day first hand and give them the platform to share those experiences with the younger generations of Lee on the Solent; meaning their memories can be captured, shared and celebrated.

To help us with the numbers who are wanting to march we are asking those to pre-register and this can be done here

If you are unable to register but still would like to march then please arrive at the old HMS Daedalus Wardroom Carpark accessed through Nottingham Place, Lee on the Solent before 09.30 the latest as the parade steps of at 10.00.
